Aside from offering sunshine, varied and healthy cuisine, and a wealth of cultural richness, Spain is not only the investment gateway to the whole of Europe, but it is also the host country for many foreign investors and families who choose our country as their habitual place of residence.
Many foreign investors , entrepreneurs and highly qualified professionals are already benefiting from the provisions of Law 14/2013 of September 27 on support for entrepreneurs and their internationalization, which offers the possibility of obtaining a general residence permit within 10 to 20 days from applying for it, both for the investors and their spouses and children under 18 years of age, or over if they are unable to provide for their own needs due to their state of health.
The residence permit gives the holder the right to reside in Spain for an initial period ranging from 1 to 3 years (depending on how the investment is made in Spain), without the need to apply for a foreigner’s identity card. The residence may be renewed even if the holder spends periods of more than 6 months per year out of Spain, and for periods ranging from 2 to 5 years.
