From GD Global Mobility we would like to inform you that the Spanish Tax Agency will maintain the schedule initially planned for the Income tax (Declaración de la Renta) and Wealth Tax Campaign 2019 despite the health crisis caused by the Coronavirus (Covid-19).
What is the Declaración de la Renta?
The Declaración de la Renta is the annual income tax statement for Spanish citizens.
Who needs to fill in the Income Tax (Declaración de la Renta)?
Everyone who is a Spanish resident and earns (or is donated) money in Spain needs to do the Declaración de la Renta. Anyone who earns less than 22,000€/year from just one source of income (one employer, client, etc…) is exempt.
If I have resided in Spain, do I have to present the Income Tax (Declaración de Renta)?
In this sense, please bear in mind that if you have resided in Spain for more than 183 days during the year 2019 you might be required to file the Income Tax and Wealth Tax returns.
What is the term of presentation of the Income Tax (Declaración de Renta) during the Coronavirus?
Additionally, we inform you that the deadline for complying with these obligations will be extended form 1 April to 30 June 2020, both inclusive.
Kindly note, we will be very pleased to provide you with the relevant support with regards to the preparation and submission of your Income Tax return and Wealth Tax return for the Fiscal Year 2019.
